Accessibility
We want anyone to be able to look at this site and book an appointment, whatever they use to browse. This page says what we have done, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.
What we aim for
We build to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is a standard, not a certificate — we have not been independently audited, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
What is in place
- Every link and button can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone, and shows a visible focus outline.
- A “Skip to content” link is the first thing in the tab order on every page.
- Interactive elements are at least 44 pixels in their smallest dimension, so they are reachable with imprecise pointing or a shaky hand.
- Photographs of the stylists carry text describing who is in them. Photographs used purely as decoration are hidden from screen readers rather than read out.
- Text and background meet AA contrast. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
- On a computer with a mouse, the pointer is a pair of shears, which open over anything clickable. They are larger than the standard arrow and come to a single point, and they only restate what the pointer already says — nothing depends on noticing it. Phones, tablets and keyboards are unaffected.
- The site respects your system’s “reduce motion” setting, and there is very little motion to begin with.
- Page structure uses real headings and landmarks, so it can be navigated by them.
Known limitations
- Booking itself happens on our stylists’ own systems — Lex’s is Square. Those pages are not ours and we cannot fix problems inside them. If one stops you, tell us: we will take it up with them, and book you in by phone in the meantime.
- Links in the site footer are smaller than the 44 pixel target used elsewhere. Every one of them is also available from the main navigation or this page.
- Photography of the salon interior is still being produced. Until it arrives, those areas show a placeholder pattern.
Booking another way
You never have to use this website to get an appointment. Call (480) 382-7029 or email lexandco.salon@gmail.com and we will book you in. The salon is open Monday – Saturday, 10:00 – 6:30.
Tell us about a barrier
If something here stopped you, we want to know — it is the fastest way for us to fix it. Email lexandco.salon@gmail.com with what you were trying to do and what got in the way, and we will reply within 30 days.
About the building
The salon is at 7109 E 2nd St #106, Scottsdale, AZ 85251. There are no stairs — it is an accessible building, and you can get to the chair without steps.
If you need anything else to make a visit work — help getting in, more room around the chair, a quieter time of day — call (480) 382-7029 or email lexandco.salon@gmail.com before you come and we will have it ready. You do not need to explain why.
